A collective exhibition bringing together five artists, as part of the 3rd Lisbon Contemporary Jewellery Biennial.
This exhibition gathers jewellery that treats different realms as active collaborators and wearers, not just backdrops for human life. Each piece is conceived as an amulet for another being or world and becomes a small, charged world in itself — a portal to a parallel realm or cosmology — while the human body acts as a temporary host where these realities meet and negotiate. The exhibition invites artists and visitors alike to consider how jewellery might protect, honour or communicate with those unexpected worlds that surround and accompany us.
Participating artists: Amélia Marta, Bruno Ferreira, Dina Elkhouly, Francesca Caccioppoli and Mila Wielusińska.

My participation
Some worlds exist beside ours, even when we cannot fully perceive them.
For Parallel Realms, I imagined the sea as one of those worlds — a realm with its own rhythms, forces and forms of existence, independent of our presence.
Marble, wood, silver, moonstone and glass come together as fragments of different territories. Materials shaped by geological time coexist with organic matter, transparency, reflection and light.
There is something about these contrasts that fascinates me: weight and lightness, opacity and transparency, permanence and movement. Each material retains its own identity while becoming part of something that could not exist without the others.
The pieces inhabit that space in between — neither entirely terrestrial nor aquatic, familiar nor unknown.
When placed on the body, they cross that boundary.
Perhaps we do not wear these worlds. Perhaps, for a moment, they inhabit us.
